چکیده

In this work, first, we present sufficient conditions for a bipartite digraph to attain optimum values of a stronger measure of connectivity, the so-called superconnectivity. To be more precise, we study the problem of disconnecting a maximally connected bipartite (di)graph by removing nontrivial subsets of vertices or edges. Within this framework, both an upper-bound on the diameter and Chartrand type conditions to guarantee optimum superconnectivities are obtained. Secondly, we show that if the order or size of a bipartite (di)graph is small enough then its vertex connectivity or edge-connectivity attain their maximum values. For example, a bipartite digraph is maximally edge-connected if δ(x)+ δ−(y) ≥ dn+1 2 e for all pair of vertices x, y such that d(x, y) ≥ 4. This result improves some of the above known conditions given by Dankelmann and Volkmann in [10] for the undirected case.

Superconnectivity of bipartite digraphs and graphs

A maximally connected digraph G is said to be super-κ if all its minimum disconnecting sets are trivial. Analogously, G is called super-λ if it is maximally arcconnected and all its minimum arc-disconnecting sets are trivial. It is first proved that any bipartite digraph G with diameter D is super-κ if D ≤ 2` − 1, and it is super-λ if D ≤ 2`, where ` denotes a parameter related to the number of...

Sufficient conditions on the zeroth-order general Randic index for maximally edge-connected digraphs

Let D be a digraph with vertex set V(D) .For vertex v V(D), the degree of v, denoted by d(v), is defined as the minimum value if its out-degree  and its in-degree . Now let D be a digraph with minimum degree  and edge-connectivity If  is real number, then the zeroth-order general Randic index is defined by   .  A digraph is maximally edge-connected if . Independent domination in directed graphs

In this paper we initialize the study of independent domination in directed graphs. We show that an independent dominating set of an orientation of a graph is also an independent dominating set of the underlying graph, but that the converse is not true in general. We then prove existence and uniqueness theorems for several classes of digraphs including orientations of complete graphs, paths, tr...

Bipartite Graphs and Digraphs with Maximum Connectivity

Recently, some sufficient conditions for a digraph to have maximum connectivity or high superconnectivity have been given in terms of a new parameter which can be thought of as a generalization of the girth of a graph. In this paper similar results are derived for bipartite digraphs and graphs showing that, in this case, all the known conditions can be improved. As a corollary, it is shown that...
